Sinai.ai Secures $1.45 Million Pre-Seed Round for Interactive AI Books

Egyptian Startup Sinai.ai Aims to Revolutionize Reading with AI

Cairo-based startup Sinai.ai has raised $1.45 million in a pre-seed funding round led by KAUST Innovation Ventures (KIV) and DisrupTech Ventures, with participation from Maza Ventures, YOUXEL Ventures, and angel investors.

Founded earlier this year by Ahmed Kamel, Mohamed Elshamy, Mohamed Elshenawy, Hana Malhas, and Abdullah Moatasem, Sinai.ai is developing an AI-native book platform that transforms traditional content into interactive experiences. Their flagship product, the aiBook—a trademarked format—creates multimodal, hyper-personalized reading journeys.

What sets Sinai apart is their approach to copyright. Unlike many AI tools that struggle with published works, Sinai secures 100% licensed content directly from publishers and rights holders, ensuring full legal compliance while allowing the AI to work with complete books.

“We believe AI will fundamentally reshape industries like publishing,” said Ahmed Kamel, CEO of Sinai.ai. “For over two decades, the core book format has remained unchanged. We’re introducing a new paradigm that transforms reading into an interactive, intelligent experience.”

The funding will support technology development, AI infrastructure, user acquisition, and licensing efforts.

Category-Defining Innovation

Mohamed Okasha of DisrupTech Ventures highlighted the team’s potential to create a category-defining company at the intersection of content, technology, and user experience. “We’re always proud to back Egyptian founders who are building companies that extend beyond local markets,” he added.

With this investment, Sinai.ai is positioned to lead the next evolution in digital reading—moving from static pages to dynamic, AI-powered narratives.
