ChipMango Secures $1.9 Million Seed Funding for Global Expansion

ChipMango Raises $1.9 Million to Accelerate Semiconductor Talent Across Emerging Markets

Nigerian startup ChipMango has announced a US$1.9 million seed funding round, positioning the company to expand its chip-design operations across Africa, Europe, and North America.

Founded in 2022 by Ola Fadiran and Jovan Andjelich, ChipMango addresses the growing global demand for semiconductor expertise through industry-aligned learning programs and certification pathways. The platform uses AI to deliver custom labs and curated content, enabling educators and universities to modernize their microelectronics curriculum.

The seed round was led by Atlantica Ventures with participation from DFS Labs, Madica, Kaleo Ventures, Trilinear Technologies, and Malta Ventures. ChipMango plans to use the investment to expand its engineering and product teams while establishing new operations in key regions.

Strategic Expansion Initiatives

  • Malta Design Center: Supported by Malta Ventures, this center will serve as a hub for chip design innovation
  • Rwanda Partnerships: ChipMango will support semiconductor capability development, workforce training, and AI infrastructure initiatives
  • Global Reach: Expanding operations across Africa, Europe, and the United States to meet rising demand

Addressing a Critical Industry Need

The funding comes as companies worldwide face shortages of skilled chip designers. ChipMango’s approach aims to tap into emerging talent pools in markets like Nigeria and Rwanda, creating new pathways for engineers to participate in advanced technology supply chains.

“The next era of AI will not be defined by software alone,” said Ola Fadiran, co-founder of ChipMango. “It will depend on who can design the chips, systems, and intelligent hardware that power it.” Anikó Szigetvári from Atlantica Ventures added that ChipMango has the potential to become “foundational infrastructure for the next generation of smart devices and semiconductor IP.”

The company’s vision aligns with broader efforts to diversify semiconductor supply chains and foster technology innovation in emerging markets.
