Lucky Secures $22 Million Series B Funding to Expand Financial Access Across North Africa

Lucky App Raises $22 Million to Revolutionize Credit Access in North Africa

Egyptian fintech startup Lucky has secured a significant $22 million Series B funding round, positioning the company for rapid expansion across North Africa. The investment will fuel efforts to scale credit offerings, strengthen infrastructure, and ensure regulatory compliance as it moves toward becoming a neo-banking platform.

From Rewards to Credit Network Leader

Founded in 2019 by Momtaz Moussa, Ayman Essawy, and Marwan Kenawy, Lucky began as a cashback and rewards program before evolving into a comprehensive consumer credit network. Today, the company offers instant credit lines, a popular debit card, and access to exclusive discounts through its proprietary network.

Strategic Investment Backing

The Series B round was led by existing investors alongside new participants including Disruptech Ventures and DPI Venture Capital via Nclude fund. Notably, Suez Canal Bank and OneStop also joined the round, with Mohamed Farouk (OneStop chairman) appointed as Lucky’s new board chairman.

Growth Momentum Ahead of Investment

Prior to this funding milestone, Lucky experienced 3x annual growth in 2025 and achieved profitability by year-end. The company has rapidly built a user base seeking accessible credit solutions that fit their lifestyles.

“Financial access is the foundation of progress,” said Ayman Essawy, CEO of Lucky. “This round allows us to scale responsibly, invest in infrastructure, and deepen our impact as regulators unlock digital onboarding across Egypt and the region.”

Vision for Financial Inclusion

With this new capital, Lucky aims to extend its reach beyond Egypt while maintaining a focus on simplicity and user experience—key differentiators that have driven its success so far. The company’s technology leverages AI to personalize credit offerings and make financial management more intuitive for users.
