Ayobami Akindipe (Nigeria) founded Ace Real Estate Development at age 21 after starting his career laying bricks as a teenager. With no initial funding or backing, he built the company on a principle of responsible growth: “Don’t owe what you can’t repay, and don’t promise what you can’t build.” Today, Ace has projects in Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa, and Akindipe launched ACE Academy to train 25,000+ young Nigerians in real estate and entrepreneurship.

Rosemary Raymond Kimaro (Tanzania) inherited Dianarose Logistics after her father’s passing. Rather than winding down the business, she rebuilt it into a cross-border operation with 130 vehicles, serving international clients across East Africa - exceeding her father’s achievements. In an industry where women remain underrepresented, Kimaro’s success has challenged stereotypes and earned recognition from organizations like Women in Management Africa and Forbes.

Local Manufacturing for Wider Access

Ivo Bonfim (Angola) took over his parents’ eyewear business, Óptica Ipris, with a mission to provide affordable alternatives to imported glasses. By focusing on local manufacturing and launching niche products like sports glasses, the company now serves 400 customers with a strong community following. Bonfim’s approach prioritizes access - ensuring that Angolans have reliable eyecare options regardless of income or location.

Connecting Families Through Digital Solutions

Mackline Nakyeyune (Uganda) created Omusawowo, a digital platform that connects families with verified caregivers for elderly care, childcare, and newborn support. Addressing the challenge of finding trustworthy help, Omusawowo provides detailed profiles and reviews to build confidence among users.
