Three Ghanaian Startups Secure $500K Funding to Boost Local Solutions

Three Ghanaian Startups Receive $500,000 Investment for Ecosystem Development

Three promising Ghanaian startups—Built Financial Technologies, GrowForMe, and SAYeTECH—have collectively secured $500,000 in funding from the Africa Ecosystem Catalysts Facility. This facility, a US$4 million pilot program backed by FMO and RVO, focuses on supporting entrepreneurs often overlooked by traditional investors.

The investments demonstrate a commitment to climate resilience and economic mobility across Ghana, Nigeria, and Tanzania. The facility operates through a local partnership model, working with organizations like Reach for Change and Innovation Spark in Ghana to identify strong founder teams and ensure investments align with real-world needs.

How the Funding Will Be Used:

  • Built Financial Technologies: Helping SMEs digitize operations and access financial services
  • GrowForMe: Connecting farmers with essential finance and resources
  • SAYeTECH: Manufacturing smart agricultural machinery for improved productivity

This latest round brings the facility’s total investments in Ghana to $850,000, following earlier commitments to Rivia and VDL Fulfillment. These enterprises are addressing critical ecosystem bottlenecks by improving access to finance, strengthening agricultural value chains, and expanding local manufacturing capabilities.

“These startups are building practical solutions that address everyday challenges for small businesses and farmers,” noted Husein Merchant of Village Capital. “What’s particularly impressive is their proactive approach—they’re not waiting for infrastructure to improve; they’re creating it themselves.”
