Senegalese Firm SORAM Afrique Secures $1.36 Million Funding to Expand Circular Economy Solutions

Sustainable Printing Solutions Get Boost as SORAM Afrique Raises $1.36M

Dakar-based industrial company SORAM Afrique has secured a $1.36 million investment from Saviu Ventures, marking the firm’s first Climate Tech investment through its Saviu II fund.

Founded over 10 years ago by Florian Baudoin, SORAM specializes in reconditioning and redeploying professional printing equipment, effectively extending machine lifecycles while minimizing waste—both in terms of equipment and consumables. The company serves a broad customer base including SMEs, large enterprises, government agencies, and educational institutions across Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana.

A Growing Circular Economy Footprint

SORAM operates as part of the OLU 360 group alongside sister companies IRIS Afrique and SIS. Together, they manage over 2,000 machines, employ 60 people, and generate FCFA 1.3 billion in annual revenue. With more than 1,000 customers already served, SORAM’s impact on reducing electronic waste is significant.

The new funding will primarily support OLU 360’s expansion across West Africa, with a particular focus on entering the Côte d’Ivoire market. This strategic move aligns with growing demand for sustainable equipment solutions in the region.

The Investment Significance

Saviu Ventures’ investment highlights the increasing recognition of circular economy models as viable climate solutions—particularly in emerging markets where access to new technology can be limited while environmental concerns grow. For SORAM, this funding represents a critical step toward scaling its impact across West Africa and potentially beyond.
