Quidax Expands Stablecoin Corridors Amidst Crypto Market Shift

Nigerian startup Quidax is deepening its focus on stablecoin-based settlement infrastructure with the expansion of its business-to-business (B2B) operations across 21 corridors, including key African markets like Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. This strategic move comes as crypto exchanges across Africa seek more diversified revenue streams amidst a downturn in retail trading.

The shift toward enterprise products is gaining momentum throughout the industry. Luno, another major player with operations in multiple African countries, recently announced workforce reductions while increasing its focus on institutional services. Bitcoin’s 24-hour trading volume has fallen significantly from its peak in late 2025, reflecting broader market trends.

Quidax joins a growing cohort of African crypto companies like Busha, Yellow Card, and Bitnob that are expanding into stablecoin infrastructure. Earlier this month, Busha Business partnered with Tether to distribute USDT to businesses across the continent, building on Quidax’s existing network of over 5,000 clients in sectors such as payments, remittance, gaming, and banking.

This expansion reflects a broader trend toward modular crypto payment infrastructure that allows fintechs and other enterprises to integrate stablecoin settlement without building complex systems from scratch. Established players like Quidax are positioning themselves as essential infrastructure providers for businesses seeking outsourced wallet, liquidity, and settlement capabilities.

“We’re expanding the infrastructure to make it easier for businesses to move value across borders within Africa and beyond,” explains Morris Ebeiroma, Quidax’s co-founder and CIO. “With our stablecoin API in West Africa, a company in Nigeria can now send funds to a partner in Ghana within minutes—a process that previously took up to 48 hours.”

Quidax generates revenue by charging businesses fees for currency conversions and stablecoin redemptions, offering customized pricing based on transaction volumes. The company is working with partners like Chainalysis and Tether to provide comprehensive compliance and settlement solutions.

With support for multiple African and international currencies, Quidax’s enterprise clients now have access to dollar-backed stablecoins (USDT, USA₮) as well as gold-backed options (XAUt) for cross-border payments, treasury operations, and digital asset flows.
