MoneyHash Taps Industry Veteran for Continental Growth

Payment orchestration startup MoneyHash has appointed Hwan Lee as its Regional Director for Africa, signaling a significant push into the continent’s rapidly evolving digital payments landscape. Lee joins from Ozow, where he spent over eight years building partnerships and expanding market reach.

Founded in early 2021 by Nader Abdelrazik and Mustafa Eid, MoneyHash addresses a critical pain point for businesses operating across fragmented payment ecosystems. The platform acts as an intermediary between merchants and payment providers, offering:

Lee’s Experience at Ozow

Prior to joining MoneyHash, Hwan Lee held various leadership positions at South Africa’s leading electronic funds transfer (EFT) provider, Ozow. As Head of Partnerships, he was instrumental in expanding the company’s merchant network and market presence. He previously held senior commercial and business development roles focused on strategic partnerships.

MoneyHash views Africa as a core growth pillar, citing the continent’s increasing digital commerce activity and cross-border payment volumes. CEO Nader Abdelrazik emphasized that Lee’s experience will be vital in navigating this complex market:
