Launch Africa Ventures Announces 15 New Investments Across Multiple Sectors
Launch Africa Ventures Backs 15 Early-Stage Tech Companies in 2026
One of Africa’s most active venture capital firms, Launch Africa Ventures (LA), announced the closure of 15 new investments during 2026. Founded in 2020, LA has rapidly become a leading pan-African fund with over 180 portfolio companies spanning 25 countries.
The firm focuses on pre-seed to pre-Series A tech businesses addressing critical challenges in fintech, healthtech, agritech, logistics, edtech, and enterprise software. Beyond initial funding, LA provides follow-on capital, distribution partnerships, and access to a network of over 400 limited partners (LPs) across 45 countries.
Strategic Sector Focus
The latest investment cohort includes companies operating in AI, the future of work, B2B commerce, supply chain solutions, embedded finance, and other infrastructure-led sectors. These span key African markets including Francophone, Northern, Western, and Southern Africa.
Among those backed are:
- Agridex - Transforming agricultural practices through technology
- Udu Technologies - Developing innovative mobility solutions
- Fincart - Providing accessible financial services
- Several others including Tayar, Khaime, Anavid, Mainstack, Growwr, Yamify, Legendary Foods, and Masunga.
LA also made follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies as they scale their operations.
A Deliberate Investment Approach
Launch Africa reviews over 1,200 potential investments annually but takes a highly selective approach. Each company undergoes rigorous evaluation including individual founder interviews to assess team dynamics and alignment with the firm’s network of 180+ portfolio businesses.
“The most important number in African tech this year isn’t the total raised, it’s how few first cheques are being written,” noted Uwem Uwemakpan, head of investments at LA. “We invest where others aren’t looking yet – building infrastructure for the next wave of innovation.”
This strategic focus allows Launch Africa to identify companies with long-term potential while supporting a vibrant ecosystem across the continent.
