Fintech Week London Expands City-Wide to Cement Position as Global Hub

Fintech Week London Returns with Expanded Format

London’s fintech ecosystem is set for a major boost as the annual Fintech Week undergoes a significant revamp, transforming into a city-wide festival designed to reinforce the capital’s status as the world’s leading financial technology hub. The initiative, spearheaded by Fintech Fringe and backed by key stakeholders including the Department for Business and Trade alongside London & Partners, is projected to draw over 1,500 attendees from across the globe.

The strategic overhaul comes at a crucial time, with recent data from Dealroom confirming London’s dominance as the world’s top fintech ecosystem. The city serves as home to 137 unicorns—private companies valued at $1 billion or more—with a combined enterprise value exceeding $714 billion.

The expanded format will enable smaller companies and emerging communities to host localized events, providing broader access to a larger audience and fostering greater inclusivity within the ecosystem. The Fintech Times has been named as the official media partner for the revamped event.

Focus on Practical Growth Dynamics

Under the theme of “Growth with Agency,” this year’s programming will address critical issues shaping fintech expansion, including:

  • How artificial intelligence is altering competitive advantages
  • The impact of evolving regulations on growth strategies
  • The convergence of fintech, crypto, and payments technologies

“London requires a dedicated platform that reflects the ambitious, practical, and international reality of those building the next generation of financial technology,” explained Calypso Harland, founder of Fintech Fringe.

The relaunch builds on Fintech Fringe’s recent merger with Fintech Week London, which has seen its standalone festival triple in size since inception. Emma Banymandhub, CEO of The Payments Association, emphasized the importance of collaboration across traditionally separate sectors to drive innovation and improve long-term outcomes for the entire fintech landscape.
