FINCA Ventures Launches Annual Prize Competition with $100,000 in Grants

FINCA Ventures has announced its annual Prize Competition, offering up to $100,000 in grant funding for African entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions in financial inclusion and sustainable agriculture. The competition, now in its second year since launching in 2024, aims to support early-stage companies with high-impact potential.

The event follows a “shark tank” format where finalists pitch their businesses to a panel of judges comprising investors and industry leaders. This year’s competition will focus on two key sectors: Fintech for financial inclusion and sustainable agriculture/food systems. Winners will receive funding based on placement (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).

Eligibility Criteria:

• At least one African founder
• For-profit organization generating revenue
• Operational for no more than five years
• Based in Sub-Saharan Africa

The Prize Competition serves as a platform to connect visionary entrepreneurs with potential investors and mentors while showcasing impactful solutions addressing critical challenges facing communities across the region. The application deadline is April 10, 2026.
