Egyptian Tech Entrepreneurs Land $3.7M in Funding Through ITIDA Initiative
Sixty-one technology startups from Upper Egypt have collectively secured an estimated $3.7 million (EGP200 million) after completing the Aswan Bootcamp Series, a program spearheaded by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) in partnership with Plug and Play.
The initiative focused on empowering entrepreneurs and fostering tech-driven growth in Upper Egypt’s governorates. The participating companies received mentorship, training, and access to investment networks throughout the program.
“This is a demonstration of our commitment to place startup growth at the center of economic development,” said Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA. “We see significant potential in Upper Egypt to build globally competitive technology companies.” He emphasized that supporting these ventures aligns with ITIDA’s broader strategy to develop Egypt’s ICT sector and create sustainable innovation.
The Aswan Bootcamp Series highlights the increasing investor confidence in Egyptian startups from emerging regions. By connecting entrepreneurs with global expertise through partnerships like Plug and Play, ITIDA aims to accelerate their journey toward market leadership.
