Egyptian Startup Fincart Secures $2.8M to Expand AI-Powered E-commerce Platform

Fincart Raises $2.8 Million to Transform E-commerce Operations Across Africa

Egyptian startup Fincart has announced a $2.8 million seed funding round, led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP, with participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Venture Labs, and other investors.

The investment comes as Fincart pivots from its initial focus on logistics software to offer a comprehensive AI-powered operating system for e-commerce merchants. This strategic shift addresses the fragmented nature of digital commerce where businesses often rely on multiple platforms for shipping, payments, customer service, and marketing.

Market Opportunity in Egypt’s E-Commerce Boom

Egypt’s e-commerce market is poised for significant growth, projected to reach $20.15 billion by 2031. This presents a prime opportunity for startups building essential infrastructure and services for online merchants.

Fincart co-founder and CEO Mostafa Masry highlighted the company’s commitment to strengthening the e-commerce ecosystem: “This investment will enable us to deepen our partnerships, enhance our AI platform, expand our infrastructure, and accelerate growth across Africa and the Middle East.”

From Logistics to All-in-One Merchant Solution

Founded in 2023 by Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart initially helped merchants manage last-mile deliveries and cash-on-delivery payments. Recognizing a deeper need, they expanded into an integrated platform that combines:

  • Logistics management with connections to over 40 shipping providers
  • Embedded financing options like short-term cash advances
  • AI-powered customer engagement tools
  • Automated payment reconciliation workflows

“We built Fincart to replace all those fragmented systems with a single control panel where merchants can sell more, deliver faster, and manage customers—all without the friction of using multiple apps,” explained Ali.

Current Traction and Future Expansion

Fincart has already onboarded over 450 merchants and processed nearly EGP 1 billion (over $20 million) in merchandise value. Revenue comes from shipping fees and tiered software subscriptions ranging from $31 to $142 monthly.

The new funding will support team expansion, product development, strategic partnerships, and Fincart’s planned regional rollout beginning in 2027.

Lina Kacyem, investment manager at Launch Africa, emphasized the fund’s confidence in Egypt’s e-commerce infrastructure: “It’s one of Africa’s most compelling opportunities with high volume, a cash-on-delivery culture, and underserved SMEs.”

Fincart joins other players like MaxAB-Wasoko and Shopify in serving Africa’s growing digital commerce market.
